Reuben Peckham, Acoustic Engineer

I’m a Chartered Engineer and a graduate and post graduate of the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at Southampton University.  I’ve spent all of my career, the past two-and-a-half decades, trying to earn a living as an acoustician.

I’m a director of 24 Acoustics, a consultancy practice based in Southampton and London and of Intelligent Instruments which manufactures specialist noise, vibration and dust monitoring instrumentation, including noise cameras for the detection and enforcement of excessive noise from road vehicles.

There is demand for input from acousticians throughout the world of infrastructure and the built environment .  My personal interests, however, lie in the world of industrial and environmental noise and planning.

As time passes this job doesn’t get any easier but it does get more and more interesting.  This blog represents my personal opinions on various topical subjects primarily related to noise and planning.
